Gloucester school board, supervisors hold work session

Gloucester school board members and supervisors held a joint meeting Tuesday night in the T.C. Walker Education Center Auditorium to receive an update on capital improvement projects, listen to the school’s fiscal year 2024 budget and to discuss a request for a one-time purchase of security equipment.
Charles Records, construction/project coordinator for the school district, presented information on the capital improvement projects, which included updates on the last phase of the Peasley Middle School HVAC project (completion planned for this summer), the new transportation facility undergoing final inspection with an operational date scheduled for next Friday, opening bids for the Achilles Elementary School security vestibule project, and ongoing work on the Gloucester High School renovation.
