The Gloucester County School Board held a special called meeting Friday evening in the T.C. Walker Education Center auditorium to appoint a neutral third-party investigator to look into two claims of harassment/discrimination. The board voted, 6-0, to appoint Jim Guynn Jr. and to expend the necessary funds for this process.
Board chair Troy Andersen kicked off the discussion of appointing an investigator by reviewing Policy GBA, which outlines Gloucester County Public Schools’ policy on harassment and discrimination within the school system.
“Within that policy, it lays out procedures for reporting and investigation of claims and how those claims are settled,” said Andersen. The first claim was filed on Sept. 12, with the second filed two days later.
After meeting with legal counsel, Andersen was able to recommend Jim H. Guynn Jr. of Guynn Waddell, P.C., Salem, to the board. Guynn does not appear to have any ties to or connection with Gloucester County, he said.
