Gloucester Ruritans

The Gloucester Ruritan Club hosted members from the Salvation Army at its November dinner meeting at the Courthouse Restaurant in Gloucester. Shown here are, from left, Gloucester Salvation Army Gloucester office manager Maria Post, Ruritan Club vice president Henry Thompson, Vice President of the Ruritan Club, and Lt. Antonio Willis, Executive Director and Pastor of the Salvation Army of the Peninsula, which supports Hampton, Virginia, and surrounding counties. Willis said that the Salvation Army gives 87 percent of donations received directly back to the community. Thompson presented club mugs to the guests as well as gift cards for $100. The club also collected food and later delivered it to the Gloucester Salvation Army office. In addition, Zone 4 Governor Don Sandridge announced that the club received recognition at the annual district convention for its support of the Operation We Care Program, the Birthday Club Program which includes community support after disasters, and Five G...
