Gloucester planners recommend approval for Hayes rezoning

The Gloucester County Planning Commission met Thursday night in the colonial courthouse to hold public hearings on two separate rezoning cases, one of which the planners voted to recommend approval of to the Gloucester Board of Supervisors. A motion for approval on the second rezoning case failed.
Planners voted 5-0 to recommend approval of a rezoning request proposed by Eric and Christy Baldwin of Hayes. Natalie Johnson and Louis Serio were not present during the meeting.
The Baldwins’ request is to rezone five acres of land on a private road, Braeburn Lane, adjacent to Machicomoco State Park in Hayes from Rural Countryside (RC-1) to Suburban Countryside (SC-1) to enable the property to be subdivided through the family transfer subdivision process.
