Ensign Brandon Evans, a Gloucester native, is training at Naval Chaplaincy School to serve as a chaplain for America’s seafaring war-fighters.
Evans graduated from Gloucester High School in 2013. Additionally, he graduated from Liberty University in 2021.
“I was able to do Naval Junior ROTC in high school and there were numerous lessons I learned that still impact me today,” said Evans. “Three in particular are: you can learn something from everyone (whether good or bad), everyone has a story (get to know it), and to grow where you are planted (even if you’d like to be somewhere else).”
Evans joined the Navy seven years ago.
“I joined the Navy to serve as a chaplain with sailors, Marines and Coast Guardsmen,” he said. “I love the diversity in serving that the Navy offers and I look forward to the many experiences that I will have in the fleet.”
