Gloucester man survives 13-day active heart attack; needs community support

“Even if you feel good, you still need check-ups. You still need regular medical care.”
This is the sentiment that 49-year-old Bobby Todd of Gloucester, took away after experiencing a 13-day active heart attack and a three-week stay in the hospital, according to his wife, Stephanie. Bobby had not been to a doctor in 30 years because he felt fine, but had no idea about the issues lurking beneath the surface.
In October, Bobby returned from South Carolina for a stint at home before he was due back for his job as a traveling superintendent for different job sites. This is when Stephanie noticed some changes in her husband.
“I noticed his activity level was not the same,” she said.
Bobby was easily worn out by the simplest tasks and was unusually fatigued. He was also experiencing pressure in his chest, without pain, that he attributed to allergies or a simple cold.
“He just rested a lot that weekend,” said Stephanie.
