The Gloucester Kennel Club will hold Canine Good Citizen and Canine Good Citizen Advanced testing on Saturday, June 5, starting at 9 a.m. The CGC and CGCA test is composed of 10 criteria that a dog must pass in order to receive their CGC and CGCA titles through the American Kennel Club.
The test items can be found on the AKC website along with training videos to help you prepare your pup for the test. Dogs must be registered with the AKC in order to receive this title, but they do not need to be a purebred dog.
The AKC has registration opportunities for all dogs to be registered through the PAL (Purebred Alternative Listing) and CP (Canine Partners) programs. These registrations also allow dogs to participate in many AKC sports. You can register your dog on the AKC website at akc.org.
