Marsha L. Weatherwax has purchased the Gloucester Insurance Agency and has named the new business Weatherwax Insurance Agency.
Weatherwax opened her business Dec. 1. She purchased the insurance agency of John and Pam Foster, who had run their agency for about 25 years. The Fosters, who reside in Gloucester, have retired from the insurance business, Weatherwax said.
The business is located on George Washington Memorial Highway, just north of Bill Hudgins Pontiac-GMC, Gloucester. Weatherwax said she and her staff assist customers with many types of insurance products, including home, vehicle and flood insurance.
"I’m excited about opening my agency," she said. "This is a wonderful community, and I’m happy that my agency will be able to provide residents with different insurance options." Her agency is affiliated with the Allstate Corporation, a Northbrook, Ill.-based company.
