Gloucester hires new assessor

Daniel K. Thomas was recently hired as Gloucester County’s new assessor. With 35 years of experience in the assessment and appraisal industry, he was most recently employed as assessor for the City of Milford, Connecticut. He will be paid an annual salary of $102,548 and will begin his duties here Dec. 16.
Thomas has completed numerous certifications and licenses including state of Connecticut Certified Land/Residential, Commercial/Industrial and Re-evaluation Project Supervisor; and state of Vermont Revaluation Project Supervisor, according to a release. He has also presented for the Connecticut Association of Assessing Officers Schools Workshops in assessing storm-affected properties, as well as in-house re-evaluations.
Thomas also co-chaired the CAAO Curriculum Development Committee, where significant contributions were made in the development of major revisions of Connecticut’s Board of Assessment Appeals Handbook. The handbook is used statewide as the guide for boards ...
