Duke pride was in full display last Thursday afternoon as Gloucester High School held its homecoming parade along Main Street. All of the school’s athletic teams took part in the festivities, including the GHS field hockey team (top photo), which just posted a 23-0 win over Phoebus to end regular season play (see related story). Youth sports teams were also a big part of the celebration, including this entry from the Gloucester Outlaws 12U football team (middle photo). The pirate-themed float asked the question (in pirate talk) “Arrr you ready for some football?” as the youngsters threw out candy to the people lining the street. Of course, no GHS parade would be complete without a full contingent from the school’s NJROTC program (bottom photo). Unfortunately, the Gloucester High School football team fell to the visiting Warwick Raiders in Friday night’s homecoming game (see page 13A).
