Megan Wilson Bost and Shelley Brown of Gloucester, members of the Virginia State Horse Judging Team, along with teammates Sarah Schobert and Taylor Walters, traveled with coaches Yvonne Miller and Cheryl Porr to Tulsa, Okla., representing Virginia 4-H in the Arabian Nationals Youth Horse Judging Contest on Oct. 26-31.
The Virginia team swept all three 4-H/FFA divisions, placing first in Halter, first in Performance and first in Reasons, as well as Top Overall Team.
Individually in Halter, Brown placed first, Schobert took third, and Wilson Bost came in seventh. In Performance, Walters placed first, Wilson Bost placed third, Brown placed sixth and Schobert placed seventh.
In Reasons, Brown placed second, Wilson Bost placed third, Schobert placed fifth and Walters came in sixth. Overall, Brown, Wilson Bost, Walters and Schobert ended up in second, third, fourth and fifth places, respectively.
