The Gloucester High School varsity softball team’s record fell to 4-3 after getting shut out, 4-0, by the Kecoughtan Warriors last Thursday.
GHS pitcher Sadie Bowden gave up only one earned run and was aided by two diving plays by shortstop Samantha Carlton.
The Lady Dukes could not get their offensive momentum going. Gloucester had chances to score but could never produce a big hit with runners on base. During the game, Bowden had two hits and Carlton had one hit.
Gloucester will be back in action after spring break when the team travels to Woodside on Tuesday. The Lady Dukes will host Woodside next Thursday. First pitch will be at 4:30 p.m. for both games.
