The Gloucester Economic Development Authority will hold a business seminar on Monday at the Main Street Center conference room.
The seminar will focus on both general retail business and service businesses, said economic development director Douglas Meredith. Two blocks of seminars will be held, with a general business seminar from 8-10 a.m. and a session from noon-2 p.m. that day to target service retail businesses.
The leader for both sessions will be Marc Willson, professor at George Mason University. Willson also is retail consultant for the Virginia Small Business Development Center.
Meredith said that Willson will speak in the morning session about a variety of business concepts that will "focus on growing smart and improving profits." In addition, Meredith said Willson will emphasize effective ways and ideas that businesses can work together, and offer a list of "business do’s and don’t’s."
