The Gloucester County Democratic Committee added its voice to the growing chorus of those condemning political violence in the wake of Saturday’s shooting of former President Donald Trump at a rally in Butler, Pa.
At a meeting Monday night at Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station 3 in Hayes, committee members unanimously approved the following resolution, according to committee chair Pam Garner:
“The Gloucester County Democratic Committee holds firm in its condemnation of the gun violence perpetrated at a GOP political rally on July 13, which resulted in injury and death. We are all neighbors, friends, volunteers, and coworkers. Gun violence cannot be normalized in our politics. We ultimately and peacefully resolve our issues at the ballot box. As Americans, we stand firm for peaceful and factual discussions and our right to vote.”
