Gloucester crew excels at Head of Lafayette Regatta

The Gloucester crew excelled in the Head of the Lafayette Regatta, a 5,000-meter head race held Sunday on the Lafayette River in Norfolk.
First-place finishes went to men’s junior double team of Jacob Gross and Ray Hudgins and the men’s junior four (Boat A) which included coxswain Landon Updike, Cooper White, Tristen Buswell, Josh Littlefield and Zach Hudson. Also placing first in the men’s junior quad were Willis Redding, Jacob Gross, Ray Hudgins and Bradley Murphy.
Second-place finishes went to the men’s junior four (Boat B) of coxswain Carolina Valenzuela, Mason Dominguez, Alex Meier, Kryshire Cooke and Ayden Duke. Also placing second were the women’s junior double team of Dannie LaCosa and Braxten Abelar, Willis Redding in the men’s junior single, and the men’s junior novice team of eight which included coxswain Jacob Escamilla, Cooke, Christian Dickerson, Max Chavez, Remy Fauls, Zack Crowell, Joseph Boulay, Blake Dorris and Jacob English.
