Gloucester Brewing Co. to hold ‘Pints for Parkinson’s’

Gloucester Brewing Company will hold “Pints for Parkinson’s” event on Saturday, April 19—an all-day fundraiser to raise awareness and funds to support finding a cure for Parkinson’s.
The brewery will open early that day at 11 a.m. with a 1-mile fun run up and down Main Street. Visit runsignup.com/race/va/Gloucester/globrewcofoxtrot1miler to register. The fee is $25 with all participants getting a T-shirt if registration is received by April 9. Proceeds will go to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
The day will continue with live music at GBC (some acts include Joe Heilman and The Ballast Band) and there will also be a silent auction. Kue’s Q will be there all day serving barbecue.
April is Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month. The cause is also deeply a personal one to Gloucester Brewing Company. GBC’s head brewer Mike Brewer’s wife, Frances, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s at just 32 years old.
