By two 4-2 votes, the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors adopted the county’s FY 2025 budget and set the corresponding tax rates during Tuesday night’s meeting in the colonial courthouse.
All supervisors were present except Ken Gibson, who was absent because of a family emergency.
The ordinance for setting the tax levies, which included no tax increase, was adopted in a vote 4-2, with chairman Chris Hutson and supervisor at large Ashley Chriscoe voting against the advertised tax rate. The real estate tax was set at a rate of $0.583 per $100 of valuation and a $2.95 vehicle tax rate, which remain unchanged.
The annual budget was also adopted in a 4-2 vote, with Hutson and Chriscoe voting against.
The operating budget for the 2025 fiscal year totaled approximately $85.2 million and the total FY2025 adopted budget is $87 million, which includes carry-over funds from this year’s budget to next year’s budget. The schools’ operating budget is $76,092,501, which includes the $30,424,128 ...
