Gloucester author releases first children’s book

Carolyn South of Gloucester has just released her first book, a children’s story about a young school-aged girl bunny.
In “Kadelia Stops Going to School,” the main character becomes worried about her grandmother who has a medical issue … so worried that she cannot get to school.
The book is illustrated by Gloucester artist Bear Graves.
“The book helps children navigate their emotions and it instills hope in children who are going through a rough time,” South said. “Like the book about Kadelia, when families go through crisis they are often so busy taking care of the crisis that they forget to talk to the child about what’s going on and children often develop problems because they get worried and don’t understand what’s going on.
“Kadelia also reminds us how powerful family relationships are and how important they are to children,” she added.
