Kent Taylor of Henrico has been hired as Gloucester’s new Workplace Safety and Training Specialist. Taylor began his work in the county on Aug. 5.
The specialist position was a new one added by the Gloucester County Board of Supervisors during its 2020 budget process. According to county administrator Brent Fedors, it was created to develop, coordinate and deliver a comprehensive safe-
ty and training management program for Gloucester County’s public facilities and employees.
Taylor brings a wealth of experience to this position from his service as a safety specialist and safety officer for the U.S. Army, promoting a safe and healthy work environment for more than 27,000 soldiers, according to a county release. He also brings proven performance in the areas of safety policies and procedures development; facility and worksite inspections; training; and award-winning experience in communications and media.
