Gloucester 4-Hers win ribbons at EquiSmartz

Members of the GLOCO Horse and the Saddle Smart 4-H clubs brought home several ribbons from EquiSmartz, the Virginia 4-H knowledge competitions held last weekend at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington.

The four teams—two senior and two junior—placed in every category of the event. Highlights for the local contestants included Anna Henderson-Cox making the state horse judging team by placing fourth overall in horse judging, and Lacie Dunson and Cheyanne Fourney advancing to the Southeast Region competition with their horse team presentation.

 

 

Also, junior competitor Mikayla Moore had the second highest score in hippology, senior Emily Johnston had the third highest score in hippology, Fourney was third in public speaking and senior Savannah Stilwell was second in novice horse judging and fourth in the horse bowl.

In team competition, the senior Gloucester horse judging team was second overall and the GLOCO seniors were third overall in hippology. ...
