Gloria Lee Godsey, 71, of Gwynn, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023.

Gloria began a career in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Elizabeth Haynes Nursing Home on Gwynn’s Island in 1972 and she later worked in home healthcare. Gloria led a quiet life and loved being home on Gwynn’s Island in Mathews County.

She is survived by her mother, Gwendolyn Godsey; two sisters, Mary Godsey and Ellen Hudson (Jim); a niece, Kate Ohlhausen (Neil); a great-niece, Hannah Ohlhausen, and an uncle, Larry Brownley (Ruth).

In keeping with Gloria’s wishes, the family will have a private service at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel, Mathews, Virginia, with burial to follow in Gwynn’s Island Cemetery, Grimstead, Virginia.
