Gladys Spence Bolling, 92, of Chesapeake, passed away Feb. 1, 2014 at Sentara Village.

She was born in Lynchburg, Va., to the late William and Eula Mae Patrick Spence, and was the loving wife of 52 years to the late Carl Bolling Sr.; she was also predeceased by numerous siblings.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, Carl Bolling Jr. and his wife Jean; grandchildren, Christopher Bolling and his wife Kimberly, Amy Ricks and her husband Noel, and Amanda Parker and her husband D.J.; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Conner Bolling, Christian and Dylan Ricks, and Victoria and Samantha Parker, and a sister, Eula Mae Jones.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Reedswood Christian Church, 7694 Meredith Drive, Gloucester, Va. 23061, with the family receiving friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in her memory to the church.
