Gladys Owens, 87, a resident of New Point, Va., died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, with family by her side.
Gladys worked at the Gloucester Senior Center for 15 years until she was no longer able to work. Prior to that, she worked at A&P and then Port Haywood Market. Gladys was a member of New Point Friends Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Owens.
She is survived by her daughters, Lois Carmine (Roger), Joyce Lesniak (Greg); a special friend, Carolyn Moran, whom she loved like a daughter; her grandchildren, Scott Carmine of Mathews, Tina Reece (Rick) of Gloucester, Steve and Mark Lesniak, and four great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Riverside Convalescent Center-Mathews and a sincere thank you to Kristy and Kaylee for taking such special care of her.
The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, from 10-11 a.m. in New Point Friends Church, New Point. The funeral will follow at 11 o’clock at the church with burial in St. Paul Annex Cemetery.
