‘Give Me Liberty’ exhibit opens Saturday at Mathews Museum

Two exhibits from the nation’s early years are now open for visitors at the Mathews Museum, 200 Main Street.
Installed this week was a traveling exhibit, “Give Me Liberty: Virginia & The Forging of Nation” produced in partnership by the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation and the Virginia Museum of History and Culture, presented by Virginia’s 250th Commission.
It opens Saturday at no cost. Special tours may be arranged by calling 804-725-3983.
The exhibit highlights Virginia’s leading role in the American Revolution, exploring the continental and global forces and the action of Americans that brought about a model of democratic government.
‘Founding Frenemies’
Also on display is “Founding Frenemies: Hamilton and the Virginians,” a traveling exhibit from the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. This exhibit will be at the museum through May 26.
