On Nov. 16, 2011, Gilbert Lee Diggs’ pilgrimage on this earth ended as he passed into eternity.

A former resident of Mathews County, he was residing in Haynesville, Va. He worked as chief engineer for Allied Transportation Company, and was a faithful member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, W. Conway and Mary S. Diggs, and a brother, Richard W. Diggs (Ricky).

He leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Robert, Donald (Donnie), and Stuart; also, sisters-in-laws, Marilyn, Caryl, and nephews, Christopher, Michael and Jesse.

Under his wishes funeral arrangements will be private.
