Dr. Marianne “Mari” Gibbs, 59, of North, who currently serves as a member on the Mathews County School Board, is seeking reelection for a four-year seat and is officially on the ballot for the November general election, she announced Monday.
“After winning the school board seat in last November’s special election, my goal has always been to continue to serve the school division and Mathews County at-large by promoting student achievement through transparency, accountability and action,” said Gibbs.
Gibbs is a registered occupational therapist, small business owner, and educational speaker who earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a Specialization in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Claremont Mc-Kenna College and her Master of Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University.
