Gloucester High School wrestlers placed third in the highly competitive Colon E. Baker Memorial Tournament, held Dec. 27 and 28 at Great Bridge High School.
GHS grappler Gil Owens won his 145 pound weight class with two wins and no losses. Finishing in third place were Anthony Morahan at 106, Jordan Schaal at 132 and John-Nathan Walker at 138. Matt Favazzo at 113 was fourth.
Finishing in fifth place were Robert Leso at 160, Devon Pullen at 170 and Micah VanNess at 220. Taking sixth place were Isaac Osorio at 120, Landon Smith at 182, Jerry Woodlief at 195 and A.J. Ransom at 138.
Also participating in the tournament were wrestlers from Patrick Henry, Grassfield, Hayfield, Kempsville, Princesss Anne, Landstown, Indian River and Smithfield high schools.
