Gloucester High School grapplers easily took their matches with Hampton and Denbigh in Peninsula District action on the GHS mats on Jan. 11.
The Dukes outwrestled Hampton, 50-18, and dominated Denbigh, 78-6. Pinning their Crabber opponents were Gloucester wrestlers Matt Favazzo at 113 in 5:30, Isaac Osorio at 120 in 3:36, Cecil Osorio at 126 in 3:27, John-Nathan Walker at 138 in 3:02, Devon Pullen at 170 in 1:27 and Levi Reeves at 195 in 1:28. Winning by major decisions were Anthony Monahan at 106 and Gil Owens at 145. Micah VanNess received a forfeit at 220.
Hampton wrestlers scored points with a pin of Thomas Clifton at 285 in 2:31, major decisions over Jordan Schall at 132 and Ethan Newell at 152, and decisions over Robert Leso at 160 and Landon Smith at 182.
