GHS wrestlers place 7th at Richmond Invitational

Gloucester High School wrestlers placed seventh out of 35 teams competing in the 2024 Richmond Invitational, which was held Friday and Saturday at the Henrico Sports and Events Center in Glen Allen. Gloucester came away with a team score of 125.5 and several wrestlers making the podium.
Karl Dean finished second in the 165 lbs. weight class, after losing by technical fall in the championship match to Gunner Colbert of St. Paul VI Catholic High School. Chase Adams placed third in his weight class at 113 lbs., winning over Patrick Patterson of Salem High School by pin in the consolation finals.
Kenneth Hamilton placed fourth in his weight class at 190 lbs., falling by a 7-5 decision in the consolation finals to Nana Utsey of Glen Allen High School. David Lewis placed fifth in his weight class at 120 lbs.
Also competing at the invitational to place eighth were Jackzel Quinones (106 lbs.), Christian Hartz (132 lbs.) and Rylan Altrath (144 lbs.).
