Gloucester High School wrestlers dominated Kecoughtan, 65-12, but lost a close 38-30 contest with Phoebus in a Peninsula District tri-match at GHS on Jan. 5.
The Dukes dropped only three matches against the Warriors, including one by forfeit. Winning over their Kecoughtan opponents were Axton Kadel at 112 with a pin in 17 seconds, Shawn Milks at 145 with a pin in 2:50, John-Nathan Walker at 152 with a pin in 1:42, Tyler Wood at 160 with a pin in 1:10, Landon Smith at 171 with an 18-3 technical fall, Dion Harris at 215 with a pin in 54 seconds and Brenden Lenhardt at 289 with a pin.
Gloucester also got forfeits at 103, 119, 125 and 130. Winning for the Warriors were Zack Taylor at 135 and Brandon Hankins at 140 with 6-4 decisions over Travis Mangrum and Gil Owens, respectively. Kecoughtan also received a forfeit at 189.
