The Gloucester High School wrestling teams competed in a quad meet Tuesday night against Poquoson, Smithfield and New Kent at Smithfield High School. The Dukes won over Smithfield (53-29) and fell to New Kent (53-24) and Poquoson (56-15).
GHS athletes winning respective weight classes over Smithfield were Jackzel Quinones (106 lbs.), David Lewis (120 lbs.), Aiden Sheesley (126 lbs.), Christian Hartz (132 lbs.), Micah Bodiford (138 lbs.), Karl Dean (165 lbs.) and Kenneth Hamilton (175 lbs.). Winning by forfeit were Rylan Altrath (144 lbs.) and Corey Skay (150 lbs.).
In the match over New Kent, Aiden Sheesley (126 lbs.), Hartz, Skay, Dean and Hamilton all won their weight classes.In the match over Poquoson, Lewis, Sheesley and Hamilton all won their weight classes.
The Dukes returned to the mat yesterday at home, where they had their last home meet of the season. It was also the team’s senior night.
