Gloucester High School golfers notched another Peninsula District title Tuesday, as the Dukes closed out the season 19 strokes ahead of the runners-up from Kecoughtan and 22 strokes ahead of third-place Woodside. Kecoughtan golfer Perry Barber had the best average for the season at 80.25.
In the final matches of the season, Kecoughtan won the rounds last Thursday at the Woodlands with 336 strokes, followed by Gloucester with 349 and Woodside with 376. Barber led all golfers with a 71 on the Warriors home course.
Scoring for the Dukes were senior Alex Palus with an 84, senior Dylan Hogge with an 87, freshman Carter West with an 88 and senior Connor Long with 90.
In the final match at The Hamptons Tuesday, Kecoughtan was first with 347, followed by Gloucester with 351 and Woodside at 354. Long was first for the Dukes with 83, followed by Hogge with 85, Palus with 91 and freshman David Grimm with 92.
