The Gloucester High School varsity softball team will begin its season Tuesday at the Stoney Run Sports Complex where it will face the Hampton Crabbers, beginning at 6 p.m.
All 10 Peninsula District teams will be in action Tuesday night at the sports complex.
Gloucester will host the Churchland Truckers in its home opener Wednesday. The first pitch is slated for 4:30 p.m.
Gloucester will host Hampton Thursday to finish up their two-game series with the Crabbers, starting at 4:30 p.m.
The Lady Dukes ended its 2022 season with an 18-4 record, one win shy of a state tournament bid. This year’s team returns seven starters.
This season’s biggest decision will be made in the pitching circle. Sophomore Chicky Boles, junior Kaia Hutton and senior Sadie Bowden should all see time on the mound. Bowden is the team’s only senior.
