After an undefeated regular season and claiming district and region titles, members of the Gloucester High School varsity softball team have claimed honors for their hard work, as selected by district and region coaches.
Gloucester’s season came to an end on June 4 after its loss to Hanover in the state quarterfinal game.
Freshman Autumn Cookson leds the Lady Dukes in first and second team all-district and all-region honors for the Peninsula District and Eastern Region. For her work in the pitcher’s circle (15-1) and in the batter’s box, Cookson was named first team all-district and all-region and was also named the Peninsula District and Eastern Region Player of the Year.
Alivia Bruce, a freshman, was also named to both teams as she garnered a 7-0 record pitching this season.
Sophomore catcher Cameron Palas was also named to first team all-district and all-region. She had a whopping 52 RBIs during the season and also led the team in home runs with six total.
