GHS senior organizes golf tournament for RCC emergency fund

Gloucester High School senior and Rappahannock Community College dual enrollment student Andrew White organized a golf tournament to raise money for RCC’s Educational Foundation Inc.’s Student Emergency Assistance Fund.
Twenty-eight teams encompassing 112 players, numerous sponsors, volunteers and supporters helped raise more than $23,000, netting $18,000 for RCC EFI last Friday.
White coordinated all aspects of the tournament, including securing the location, soliciting sponsors, collecting donations for gift bags and gathering prizes.
“We are grateful to Andrew for spearheading this effort and admire his philanthropic spirit,” said Sarah Pope, executive director of RCC’s EFI.
