“We’ve got an ambitious schedule for the summer.”
Charles Records, construction/project coordinator for Gloucester County Public Schools, is looking forward to a number of accomplishments in the ongoing renovation at Gloucester High School. Tasks ahead include renovating the media center (library), commons, extended learning area, kitchen and dining area, auxiliary gym and band, drama and choral rooms all this summer.
The boys’ locker room was recently completed and the demolition of the girls’ locker room is underway. ‘D’ hall is nearing completion and will be finished by June 6, allowing for those classes in the modular classrooms to be moved back to their original location.
“We’re still under budget,” said Records. Construction delivery is also coming in ahead of schedule.
Site plan work for the exterior of GHS is also planned for this summer. This includes creating a dedicated bus loop, restructuring the student parking lot and widening the field hockey field.
