GHS netters top Heritage

The Gloucester High School girls’ volleyball team is off to a 2-1 district start with early-season wins over Heritage and Phoebus and a loss to Menchville. The GHS boys’ volleyball team also won its opener over Heritage.

Taking on the Hurricanes to open the Peninsula District schedule on Sept. 11, the Lady Dukes won, 25-22 and 26-24, before Heritage took a set, 25-19. The Gloucester girls sealed it with a 25-8 victory in the fourth set.

Kelsee Oliver delivered five aces and five kills for the Dukes, along with 12 assists. Sierra Hogge had five aces and four digs, Mckensie Fischer had five kills and three aces and Victoria Wilson had four kills, three aces and 10 assists.
