The Gloucester High School junior varsity softball team is now 4-3 on the season after three recent games. The junior Dukes fell to Warwick, 6-3, at GHS last Thursday, although they either led or were tied up until the last inning. Kayla Tobin threw five strikeouts on the mound and went 1-for-3 with a single at the plate.
BreAnna Faulkner and Starr Patton each went 1-for-3 with homeruns while Jessica Hogge went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple.
Gloucester got by Churchland at GHS on April 4 just prior to spring break. After starting down 1-0 in the first inning, the Dukes came back to tie the game in the second and held on to the lead the rest of the way.
Patton had a home run in the win, Lauren Rush and Tobin each had doubles and Faulkner had a pair of hits.
Gloucester blew out Bethel, 20-1, at Bethel on April 3. Tobin threw five strikeouts and only allowed one hit. Rush was a defensive standout and had a near diving catch at first base.
