The Gloucester High School indoor track teams are winding down their regular season as they competed in the Peninsula District Meet #3 on Wednesday, Jan. 17 at the Boo Williams Sportsplex. The boys’ and girls’ teams performed well with most athletes putting up their season’s best performances.
In the girls’ 55-meter dash, Deziray Bellinger placed sixth with a time of 7.73 seconds and JV runner Jenna Seaton placed eighth in her race with a time of 8.61. In the 1,000-meter run, Mya Baker placed first with a time of 3:14.44, Emily Farrar placed sixth with a time of 3:42.04, Rachel Blittle placed eighth with a time of 3:51.52, and Chloe Sylvester came in ninth with a time of 3:56.85.
Charlotte Houtz, Mackenzie Alcorn, and Hannah Broadwell all placed well in the 1,600-meter run. Houtz came in first with a time of 5:59.66, Alcorn placed fourth with a time of 6:33.74, and Broadwell placed sixth with a time of 6:58.88.
