Gloucester High School hosted its annual Bands Along the Bay competition on Saturday, despite heavy rain. The large event was moved indoors and GHS was able to host all 15 bands, as planned.
The GHS Marching Dukes were supported by 78 adult volunteers who reported to help, with almost everyone serving all day. They were also joined by eight alumni students serving in various locations around campus with several more serving as guides for the bands. It was a challenging day with an untried plan, but Gloucester High School accommodated hundreds of band students, staff, and attendees to the event, receiving compliments from several of the larger bands in attendance, according to a release from the Gloucester Band Boosters.
