The Gloucester High School homecoming parade will step off this evening, Thursday, Oct. 10, from Main Street Center at 5:15, traveling along Main Street until it reaches Botetourt Elementary School.
GHS principal Dr. Stefan Mygas will be honored as this year’s parade grand marshal. Mygas hails from Virginia Beach, where he began his career in education as a substitute teacher. He was a teacher and football coach in Newport News and York County before coming to Gloucester.
Mygas has worked at Gloucester County Public Schools for almost 10 years, as GHS assistant principal and GCPS secondary math instructional specialist before taking on the role of GHS principal in 2021. He lives with his wife Melissa, who is principal of Petsworth Elementary School, and their 10-year-old daughter, Leila.
On Friday, the Gloucester High School varsity football team will face the Bethel Bruins, beginning at 7 o’clock. The halftime show will be performed by the GHS Marching Dukes. This year’s GHS Duke and ...
