Gloucester High School golfers have slipped to second place among Peninsula teams after Woodside placed first in the last two matches to pull into the lead. The Wolverines have a cumulative score of 2,157 after six outings, just six strokes ahead of the Dukes.
Woodside shot a team score of 340 to win at Deer Run on Sept. 10. Kecoughtan was second with 344 and the Dukes were third with 357. Dylan Hogge led Gloucester with an 80, just a stroke behind the medalist from Phoebus. Alex Palus was next for the Dukes with 88, Connor Long shot a 91 and Carter West shot a 98.
Woodside and Kecoughtan tied for first at Cypress Creek on Sept. 5 with team scores of 362. Warwick was next at 367 and the Dukes had 377. Hogge led the Dukes with an 85 and still has the best average among Peninsula players at 82.17.
