GHS golfer Vannoy receives all-region honors

The Gloucester High School golf team ended its season at the regional tournament held at Williamsburg National Golf Club, James City County, last week with a fourth-place team finish. Freshman Levi Vannoy earned all-region honors.In difficult playing conditions due to persistent rainfall, Vannoy finished as the second-best individual state qualifier by shooting rounds of 82 and 76 in the two-day region event. Only three golfers qualified for the state tournament. Vannoy earned first team all-region honors by finishing fifth overall out of 48 golfers.
Vannoy will compete in the state championship at Heritage Oak Golf Course in Harrisonburg on Monday.
