GHS girls swim ranked third in district

The Gloucester High School varsity girls’ swim team is currently ranked third overall in the Peninsula District, while the boys’ team is ranked fifth.
Gloucester competed at Brittingham-Midtown Community Center, Newport News, on Dec. 9 and at the Hampton Virginia Aquaplex on Monday.
So far this season, the boys have broken three team records. The new 200-yard medley relay record was set by senior Auggie Baker and sophomores Blake Walters, David Collawn and Aidan Mudrie.
The 400-yard freestyle relay has been broken twice, with the most recent record having been set by Mudrie, Collawn, Walters and freshman Camden Hoercher.
In individual events, the 200-yard freestyle record has been broken twice, first by Mudrie and most recently by Hoercher. The 100-yard butterfly record was also broken twice, first by Hoercher and then by Mudrie.
