GHS girls shut out Bayside; suffer tough loss to Trinity

After a tough field hockey match against the Titans of Trinity Episcopal School, falling 5-3 at home last Wednesday, the Dukes got back on the winning track Monday with a 9-0 win over the Marlins of Bayside High School.

While the Dukes did not put many shots on the goal cage with only 21, they were very effective with their shot selection by scoring on nine of them.
Leading the way was Charlotte Houtz with three goals and Reese Miller with two goals.  Miller now leads the team with eleven goals, and Houtz is right behind her with eight. Also scoring one goal each were Mackenzi Reece, Abby Junker, Peyton Sutton and Hannah Symonds.
Assists were credited to Miller with three, Junker with two and Houtz, Reece, Chloe West, Maddie Rowe, Ayelu Mason and Kaylee Hall each adding one. Addy Zabicki and Aurora Duffie shared the goal cage and neither had a shot on goal to defend.  The Dukes earned 10 penalty corners and allowed one.
