GHS girls beat Warwick, fall to Menchville, New Kent

The Gloucester High School girls’ varsity soccer team defeated Warwick, 4-1, in an away game on Tuesday, April 9. In the first half of the game, Warwick scored the first goal and only goal of the half.
In the second half, Rylee Amaral scored the first goal for GHS with an assist from Ava Santellanes. Amaral then scored two more goals to continue the Lady Dukes’ dominance. Lilyan Wright racked the Lady Dukes’ final goal for the evening.
Menchville
On Tuesday, April 16, the GHS girls were shut out by the visiting Menchville Monarchs, 4-0.
In the first half, the Lady Dukes stayed strong and allowed Menchville to score only one goal with saves from Santellanes and Wright.
In the second half, Menchville scored three more goals to seal the win.
New Kent
On Monday, the GHS girls lost a 3-1 game to New Kent. In the first half of the game, New Kent scored the first goal of the night. In the second half, New Kent scored two more goals.
