GHS girls beat Crabbers, Warriors

Gloucester High School girls’ volleyball players improved their Peninsula District record to 7-2 with a win over visiting Hampton in the Pink Game on Tuesday. The Gloucester netters took the match in four sets.

The Dukes also bested the previously undefeated Kecoughtan Warriors in four sets on Oct. 5 at GHS. Gloucester won 25-15 before dropping a set 27-25, but came back to take the next two 25-12 and 25-22.

Mckensie Fischer had nine kills and five aces in the Kecoughtan match, Kelsee Oliver had eight kills and six aces, Samantha Cotes added eight kills and 17 assists and Marina Paredes had six digs and a kill. Dez’re Maynora-Peters contributed three digs and three kills, and Colleen Lemay had three blocks and six kills.
