GHS field hockey team has yet to be scored upon

Gloucester High School varsity field hockey players continued to dominate their opponents in recent action. The Dukes have been playing outstanding defense and have not allowed a goal against them.

Gloucester blanked Bethel, 7-0, at GHS on Tuesday. Kayla Sadler and Cassidy Goodwin each had a hat trick in the win and Courtnie Greene added a goal. Katelyn Curtis had a pair of assists and Goodwin had one. The Dukes also beat Phoebus, 14-0, on Sept. 11.

"I’m extremely proud of our defense," said Gloucester coach Mike Miller. While the Gloucester forwards put on the press, the defenders back them up and keep the ball moving ahead. As a result, the Dukes control the tempo, and the game.

"I’m really proud of this team, they’re really working together. They support each other well and they’ve really come together," Miller said. The Dukes are scheduled to host Warwick today and travel to Menchville on Tuesday.
