Gloucester High School varsity field hockey players are 2-0 after early action. The Dukes opened the season with a pair of shutouts, winning 8-0 at Woodside on Aug. 26 and 10-0 at Denbigh last Thursday.
At Denbigh, Gloucester got two goals each from senior Courtnie Greene and sophomore Brittany Romero and a goal apiece from junior Ashley Bohi, sophomore Maddie Hutson, junior Tori Harwood, Greene, senior Katelyn Curtis and junior Sam West. Sophomore Bri Greene and West had two assists each and assists were credited to senior Kayla Sadler and Curtis.
"I was happy with our defense. They are a little young, but they did not allow any shots on goal," said GHS coach Mike Miller.
Against Woodside, Harwood had a hat trick, Sadler scored twice and the Dukes also got goals from sophomore Cassidy Goodwin, Bohi and West.
