The Gloucester High School varsity field hockey team finished the regular season as the Peninsula District Champions for the 15th season in a row following Tuesday’s 6-0 victory over Woodside.
Of the team’s six goals, three came from seniors Leigha Germain, Avery Watkins and Kamryn McDonough playing in their last regular season game. Other goals were scored by Mackenzi Reece, Hannah Symonds and Abby Junker. Reese Miller led the team in assists with three while Charlotte Houtz and Junker each recorded two. Seniors Kiley Parker, Germain and McDonough also had assists.
Tuesday was also senior night for the Lady Dukes. Following the game, seniors Aura Griggs, Avery Watkins, Emma Kadel, McDonough, Parker, Germain and team manager Rylie Williams along with their families were all honored on the field.
Up next for the Dukes will be the Region 4A semifinals match on Monday which the team will host.
